What differences can I expect compared to my last time working with PDO?
Installation timelines now range from three to eight weeks, depending on your material and accessory selections. These timelines can shift, sometimes daily, as availability changes. The payment schedule remains structured as follows:
-
50% deposit to secure your installation date
-
40% due upon arrival of materials or installers (whichever comes first)
-
Final 10% due upon completion of your installation
What similarities can I expect compared to my previous project?
You can always rely on PDO’s customer service from start to finish. You’ll also still find:
-
A wide selection of accessories
-
Expanded color options (more than before)
-
A similar project process
-
A limited lifetime warranty
Can I pay only for design plans?
Yes. PDO understands that full custom work may not be the right fit for everyone. If you’d like to purchase design plans only, you can. PDO also offers financing options through Hearth, which may help you still move forward with your project.
For clients who already have design plans and simply want to compare pricing, email your plans to PDO and we’ll provide you with our quote.
How long until my installation takes place?
Installation typically ranges from three to eight weeks, but the timeline begins only once your contract is signed and your deposit is collected. For example, if PDO initially gives you an estimated installation window of five weeks but it takes you two more weeks to finalize your contract, your five weeks begin from the signing date. All installations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis once deposits are in place.
How long will my design or organization project take?
Every project varies. Factors that impact installation include:
-
System type (wall-hung vs. floor-based)
-
Inclusion of drawers, doors, crown molding, baseboards, glass mirrors, etc.
-
Room layout and features like stairs
-
Any necessary tear-outs before installation begins
As a general guideline, PDO installs about $3,000 worth of design work per day, but variables can increase or decrease this pace.
For organizational projects, hours are purchased in two-hour increments. Variables that affect timing include:
-
Number of rooms and size of space
-
Whether stairs are involved
-
Amount of shopping, sorting, or cleaning required
-
How quickly you make “keep, donate, or discard” decisions
-
Your level of involvement in preparation
How many hours of organizing should I buy?
This depends on how much you’d like PDO to do versus what you’ll handle on your own. For example, some clients prefer full-service assistance with clearing, sorting, and reorganizing, while others prep the space themselves and only need PDO to fine-tune the final organization. You can purchase organizational hours upfront or add more as needed.
When is the busiest time of year?
PDO’s busiest season runs from October through January. October is busy with clients preparing for holiday guests, and January is the single busiest month of the year as clients who delayed in November and December are finally ready to move forward.
