Organize Process

Step One Free Consultation (up to 30 minutes)

*Currenlty, organize projects are only offered when a design project is completed with PDO.* PDO will call you to discuss your project and answer questions. Photographs of your project are mandatory to move forward. PDO’s rate is $100 per hour, purchased in two-hour increments.

Step Two – Do you want to use containers?

Consider using items already in your home (i.e., plastic containers, baskets, bowls, vases, etc.). If you want to buy containers, feel free to go shopping alone. We can schedule a shopping trip together, or PDO can also go shopping for you.

Step Three – Clearing Out

Take everything out of the area that we will be working on together. Reach high and low in the front and back: every drawer, cabinet, shelf, basket, bin, and container. Everything gets pulled out from the space. The exceptions may be extra large items.

Step Four – Keep, Trash, Donate

As you take out all your belongings, decide if you want to keep, trash, or donate. If you give your gently used, unwanted items to Scottsdale Unified School District, PDO will take your belongings for you, within reason, of course! ;). Click here to learn more about PDO’s favorite charity.

Step Five – Clean

Now, it’s time to clean. If you need to complete a deep clean, ask your family or friends for assistance, or consider hiring a professional company. Please note, PDO does NOT offer deep cleaning services, but if you need a referral, I know someone awesome!

Step Six – Organize

Now, it’s time to place your items back where they belong. PDO considers your space, your needs, accessibility, and functionality while taking advantage of your vertical and depth space. So don’t forget to be flexible and adjust as you go!
