About Acacia, MBA, MSP
Acacia, PDO Owner & Founder is originally from Portland, Oregon. She enjoys traveling and eating different foods (no pig’s feet and chitlings, please). She loves college football. GO DUCKS! On Saturdays during the Fall, unless you’re asking her to watch a game somewhere, she will be busy watching Game Day, having breakfast, and binge-watching games!
Her natural ability and interest in designing and organizing began as a young child. No joke, see the picture on the left proving she has been designing “houses” and organizing since she was a little girl. When at sleepovers with girlfriends, while they were calling boys, Acacia was organizing their closets. Imagine THOSE “before and after” pictures from the ’90s; no, there are none! As a young teenager, she would travel to California with her best friend’s family in the summers. Her one job was to fit everything in the back of the suburban because her best friend’s mom knew she would get the job done. She remembers feeling so proud, knowing she relied on her to help at such a young age.
After high school, Acacia tried the college thing and realized she was not ready. Then, in January 2003, Acacia joined the United States Air Force (USAF) as a Radar Air Traffic Controller. While serving our country for nine years, she was fortunate to live in different parts of the world and experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. Acacia was also ready to attend college and has since completed several degrees. Her final two degrees are a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Science in Psychology (MSP).
Acacia has always imagined settling down in Arizona (AZ), so it was her first stop after the military. Although she continued traveling, spending time in Alaska, Europe, Afghanistan, Dubai (Dune Bashing is Uh-Maze-Ing), Thailand ($5 massages for an hour, good ones too!), Acacia would always end up coming back to AZ. She is proud to call the desert her home and has no regrets, even in the hot summers. After all, it is all about Perspective. Acacia used to be in full military gear, head to toe (helmet, boots, 60-pound backpack, and other “military accessories”), walking to and from work in the Middle East, and sleeping in a tent. If she had to use the restroom, she was required to get fully dressed in the middle of the night before walking to a glamorous bathroom, the Porta-Potty. Now, she is in shorts, flip-flops, and her hair up. Acacia really cannot complain. Arizona is what she loves!
She has met some of the most incredibly supportive clients along the way, and Acacia is thankful she has this opportunity! Anyone who has known her for a long time can attest that design and organization are the perfect jobs for Acacia. It’s a labor of love, and she is fortunate to do it daily!
P.S. If you zoom in, you may find a prideful tear running down her face!
About Burt
I, Ivol (Burt) Stever, was an Army brat born in Cologne, Germany. When I was ten months old, we moved back to the United States. I lived in the Midwest until I was a teenager. Both sides of my family are from Nebraska. My Mom’s side of the family were farmers, and my dad’s family ran a local general store that sold anything you could want.
I graduated from Mountain View High School in Mesa, Arizona, and have always lived in the East Valley. At 19 years old, I met my beautiful wife, Tammy, at a pool hall, and together, we have been married for 27 years with four grown children: one girl and three boys, Clayton, Mackenzie, Blake, and Kael. When our children were young, we tried to keep them as busy as possible, including sports, riding four-wheelers, camping, fishing, and all the things we still love to do today. One of my favorite memories is when the kids were little; we always enjoyed taking them to the Dunes during the Winter and various local lakes throughout the summer. Nothing beats Arizona sunrises and sunsets! Nowadays, in our free time, we are still always on the go. Tammy and I still greatly admire the outdoors, and we try to take our boat out as much as possible. Don’t be a stranger if you see us on the water!
I have been working in trades my whole career, and I love what I do because I get to work with my hands. When Tammy and I moved in together, I worked at a pest control company and had a license to “kill.” Bugs, that is! I worked there for a year and a half and then went to work for a company setting modular buildings. That career ended shortly after I fell off a roof and almost broke my neck. Soon after, I started installing European Custom Cabinetry for over 24 years. As much as I enjoyed my time there, one day, I decided I wanted to expand my knowledge and learn other skills. I took a leap of faith and became a commercial carpenter for two and a half years, and I thought that would be my forever home. However, while working at my last company, I was helping Perspective Design & Organization with their client’s installations. After helping with a few smooth projects, I decided to say yes and join the team! I am excited about the company’s future and look forward to having many more positive experiences with our team and clients.
